World Spay Day, Legislative Alert in Nebraska

By on February 2, 2016

Humane legislation and animal rights are at the center of the Nebraska Rescue Council’s mission. Please consider supporting the Council at these two upcoming events:

Join the Nebraska Rescue Council for a special ceremony as Governor Ricketts signs its proclamation in celebration of World Spay Day on Wednesday, February 3rd, at 10 AM. The event will be held in the Warner Chamber  which is located on the second floor of the Nebraska State Capitol.

Legislative Alert:

The public hearing for LB 916 has been scheduled! The Judiciary Committee will hear testimony regarding this bill, which will give immunity to rescuers who forcibly enter a vehicle to save an animal in distress. A large number of rescuers in attendance will show larger public support for the bill.

Friday, February 19th, 1:30PM

Room 1113, near the south entrance of the Capitol

In a note, the Nebraska Rescue Council’s President, Jessica Ellis, says, “I hope you will join us for both of these important events.” No RSVP is needed to attend either event.
