A new facility for area service dog organization
Uplifting Paws has been training dogs for become service animals for years, but before this week never had its own facility. The northwest Lincoln facility will now be home to puppies and adolescent dogs that will serve in coming years.
The facility, located near 56th and Cornhusker Highway, hosted an open house Sunday, Nov. 11 according to KLKN-TV.
Founded in 2017, Uplifting Paws “provides comfort and independence, one paw at a time,” says its Facebook page.
And since 2017, the nonprofit organization has been providing highly-trained service dogs for disabled persons who would benefit from a service dog, and to providing education and training for therapy dogs.
