Help stock Homeward Bound in the Heartland’s food pantry!

By on August 9, 2017

Homeward Bound in the Heartland, Inc. (HBITH) rescues homeless/abused/neglected/abandoned animals from high-stress situations. The local group also pulls animals from shelters that are in danger of being euthanized. Health, age, or breed does not matter to HBITH- it doesn’t discriminate. Its rescued animals are examined, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered before being placed in carefully-screened homes. By involving and educating the community, HBITH works to raise the public’s awareness of the plight of homeless animals as well as realizing the benefits of adopting an animal in need.

That said, HBITH’s mission is difficult to work towards at the moment as the group is dangerously low on cat food in its food pantry. A recent Facebook post states: “We only have 50 lbs. of cat food left. Can anyone help our cats and kittens?”

HBITH needs your help in stocking up on cat and kitten food (soft and hard), plus scoopable cat litter. If you are unable to donate food, the groups asks for a monetary donation and/or a share of its story.

Homeward Bound in the Heartland relies on community generosity to perform many of its functions, including feeding foster kids, homeless animals, feral cat colonies, and animals in low-income families. The latter helps keep animals safe in their homes and not back in shelters.

Food donations can be dropped off at 13256 Millard Ave, Omaha, NE 68139. Also, feel free to contact Joni Cisney at 402-706-7313 or info@hbith.org
