Now that you’ve purchased a bathing tub for your dog, it’s time to understanding the correct way to use it. Without the right knowledge, the bathing process can quickly turn into a messy affair. Not to forget that you will also fail to get the bathing results you expected for your dog.
So, what is the correct way to use a dog bath tub? Take a look-
1. Leash Your Dog
If your dog gets very anxious or wriggles while bathing, it’d be great if you can leash him/her. Many of the dog bathing tubs feature loops and hooks that you can use. Your pet will feel more comfortable and safe with the leash.
At the same time, the leash will also allow you to have more control over your dog. Moreover, dogs also have the habit of bolting away as soon as they are done with the bath but are still wet. The leash will eliminate this problem, as well.
2. Place the Dog in the Bathing Tub
You can now find dog bathing tubs with a lifting mechanism. They eliminate the need for you to lift and place the pet inside the tub. The bathtub can be lowered and raised with the help of a lever or button. Alternatively, there are also bathtubs that feature a stair for easy entrance.
Ensure that all the products are ready and close to the tub so that you don’t have to leave your pet alone.
3. Start Washing
Use only a small amount of dog shampoo and start washing your pet. Start from the head and all the way to the tail. Legs and tummy will also need cleaning. Be very careful when washing their face and legs.
Once done, you can use the showerhead for rinsing off the shampoo. Keep rinsing as long as the water starts running clear through the tub drain.
4. Drying After Bath
You can use dog grooming dryers to dry your pet after the bath. You should never use your own dryer for drying your dog as they are not safe for pets. Also, while most pet parents use towels for drying their pet after a bath, it is a demanding and time-consuming process.
Grooming dryers are safe, convenient, and quick. Also, make sure that you use a brush to remove the knots and tangles while drying.
