Details on “world’s largest” indoor dog park planned for Omaha

By on July 28, 2018

Nebraska Canine Commons is a major project being funded by a local nonprofit and hopes to build a $16 million indoor dog park in 2020. The park will be off-leash and plans are to house the facility in the western part of the city, maybe Elkhorn.

Here are some details from an Omaha.com article published July 27:

  • 70,000 square-feet of play area with dog agility and playground equipment, all atop specialized turf with a drainage system designed to manage liquid waste and minimize odor.
  • a micro-clinic and classrooms with space for as many as 60 for dog training classes.
  • Its creators claim it would be the largest indoor dog park ever built — though it might be difficult to make that claim definitively.
  • According to its website, pricing begins at $79 per month plus an extra $15 per month for each additional dog, including unlimited access and group training

We’ll be following the progress of the project here on Pets in Omaha. Find more on Nebraska Canine Commons at its website.
