Meet the Top 100 dog breeds in America

By on June 28, 2017

Each year, data collectors (like the American Kennel Club) take a look at the over 55 million households that include a dog in order to track breed populations and popularity. Last year, the AKC tallied nearly 200 different breeds in our homes.

As you would suspect, there are staples on the list each year- Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, etc. But one cool thing to watch for in the yearly lists are “new” breeds that are becoming more prevalent. In 2016, new additions to the top 100 included the Neopolitan Mastiff and the Silky Terrier.

Where does your pup’s breed rank? Take a look at this site to find out.
