Sponsor A Pet from Blue Cross

By on November 7, 2014

If you have room in your heart but not in your home for a pet, you can now sponsor one and help them find a happy home.

Many of us care deeply for animals and would like a lot more of them than we already have. Many others love pets and wish we could adopt one ourselves, but are unable to for whatever reason. Sometimes the timing isn’t right to have a pet. Maybe it’s because you are too busy driving your kids to soccer practice, working over 40 hours a week, are in school, live in an apartment or have another reason.

Fortunately, there are ways to help out the animal community other than adopting. As a foster parent sponsor, you can help animals while they are in the process of getting adopted. You can also simply provide funds to Blue Cross for Pets, a program that allows you to sponsor a pet while it waits for a permanent home.

According to Blue Cross, on average, it takes 22 days to rehome a pet. Animals need the appropriate care while waiting for a forever home. By sponsoring a pet, you can help provide pets at Blue Cross rehoming centers with a “comfy bed, tasty treats and terrific toys.”  Monthly gifts from you ensure that the animals can get health checked and get all the behavioral support they need so they can be fully prepared to join a family.

You can choose what you would like to donate each month, and once you sign up to sponsor a pet, you will receive a certificate, updates on how your pet is doing and you will be notified when your pet has found a home.

Though we’d love to help all the homeless pets in the world, it is impossible to do so. And if you can’t have one yourself, you’ve now got an option that helps while others care for animals seeking new homes.
