Sept. 14, 15- A big weekend for pet events in Omaha
Our events page is always chocked full of events that are happening around the area in the coming days, weeks, and months, but this weekend is so full, that we’ve decided to write a feature highlighting all the great pet events going on around the Omaha pet community.
Saturday, September 14, 2013
- The Nebraska Humane Society’s weekly Saturday play day is a go this Saturday. Bring your pets to the Humane Society at 89th and Fort, socialize, donate, and maybe even adopt! This is a great weekly event that helps members of the Omaha pet community come together to have fun and benefit the NHS.
- The Midlands Humane Society’s 5th annual dog walk takes place in Council Bluffs this Saturday. Check out the events page for more info on this and all events we feature. Some quick notes: The event is free, features complimentary food and beverages after the one-mile, pet-friendly trek, and much more. Wag bags and t-shirts will be for sale, donations are always welcome, and fun will be had by all, rain or shine! Check in at 8 A..M. and start walking at 9. Click here for more.
- Dachshunds Anonymous’ “Dogs Day Out Walk” will take place at the K-Mart in Council Bluffs this Saturday. Check in at 8 A.M. and take a fun walk for a great experience and cause at 9. Visit our events page for more information about the group and their regular events.

- The Yappy Pack’s Stay and Play group (same as above) meets again at 9 and more fun is sure to be had.
- The Yappy Pack will be selling their homemade, all-natural dog treats at the following Farmers Markets through the summer and fall: Old Market Farmers Market every Saturday between May 4 and Oct 19 from 8am to 12:30; Aksarben Village every Sunday, May 5 through Oct 20 from 9am to 1pm. (The Yappy Pack events are always featured on our events page as they occur much of the year.)
- The Omaha Dog Pack Walk will hold another fun adventure at Memorial Park in Omaha. Check out this great event which starts at 10 A.M. on Sunday.
Check back frequently for new events and more fun for you and your pets. For example, On Saturday, September 21, 2013, there is a “Party for Paws” Zumbathon to benefit the Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue Group. It takes place at 1 P.M. at Omaha’s Lewis and Clark landing.
The events in this town are endless, which is wonderful to see. We obviously love our pets and give the community many opportunities to benefits dogs, cats, and all kinds of animals who need help. Get out, bring your pets, and enjoy the company of other animal lovers!
