In need of a dog training facility? Check Out Go Dogs! Inc.
Go Dogs! Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to friendly training and relationship development between dogs and owners in the Omaha area. They offer classes in agility, Flyball, Obedience, Tracking, and even basic life skills needed for the companion dog. They also have classes that prep dog and owner for the AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test. Go Dogs hosts a CGC test about once a year. (Possibly more if the need arises, they say!)
Members are active in competitive dog sports and multiple dog sport venues.
Here’s a note from the Go Dogs Web site:
“Go Dogs prides itself on being the only dog club in the Omaha area that offers classes how to train flyball, and the Omaha Speedracers is the fastest flyball team in all of Nebraska and Iowa. Agility instructors have multiple-titled dogs, including MACH (Master Agility Champion in AKC), ADCH (Agility Champion in USDAA), NATCH (NADAC Agility Champion) and C-ATCH (CPE Agility Champion), ATCH (ASCA Agility Champion) as well as competing in AKC, USDAA, CPE, and ASCA Nationals events.”
Go Dogs! is one of the only local venues that have both heat and air-conditioning for indoor training; when the weather is cooperating they have a large flat grassy area.
Go Dogs! is also dedicated to the humane treatment of animals and does not tolerate any type of abuse while training. They recommend that only one owner is involved in the training while in class, but promote others to attend to observe and help with the training at home. During the week, classes are primarily held at 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. They have an array of class times, however. Here is the calendar.
Individual membership for one year is only $40; Family membership for a year is $60. Click here for the membership application.
